Twitter Completes Rebranding to X

Twitter has officially transitioned to X.com as of May 18, 2024, completing the rebranding process initiated by Elon Musk. This change marks the final step in Musk's efforts to transform the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, into "X." The URL "twitter.com" now redirects to "x.com," signifying the full adoption of the new branding across all primary systems.

The rebranding began in July 2023 with the announcement of the name change and the introduction of a new logo, replacing Twitter's iconic blue bird with a stylized "X." Musk envisions X as an "everything app," akin to China's WeChat, integrating social networking, banking, shopping, and more into a comprehensive digital ecosystem. Despite facing user dissatisfaction, legal challenges, and technical issues, the platform's core functionalities remain the same, with the rebranding reflecting Musk's ambitious strategy to expand X's capabilities and reshape its identity.
